About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and compliant clinical care. This role plays a key part in supporting clinical governance, risk management, auditing and continuous quality improvement across the organisation.

The position ensures compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Quality of Care Principles, the new Aged Care Act 2025, and all relevant legislation and organisational policies.

Our client is a well-established, autonomous, not-for-profit aged care organisation with a proud history spanning over a century. Located in Northern Tasmania in a stunning coastal setting, the organisation provides high-quality permanent and respite aged care services.

The service is a large facility supported by approximately 240 staff and is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment to enhance resident care and modernise facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Nursing, Quality Educator and clinical leaders to develop and implement best-practice auditing frameworks and schedules

  • Ensure compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act and relevant clinical guidelines

  • Monitor and implement changes in legislation and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain, review and update clinical policies, procedures and protocols

  • Support preparation for audits, accreditation and regulatory reviews

  • Coordinate and chair the Quality Advisory Committee, including preparation of reports for the Board of Governance

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Nurse Consultants to monitor incidents, complaints and reportable events, including SIRS

Essential Criteria

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Minimum 4 years’ clinical experience (aged care experience essential)

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with excellent communication skills

  • Hold, or be working towards, a qualification in Leadership and Management
